About Asanda Madi

I am a Clinical Psychologist practicing in Westdene, Johannesburg. I am an enthusiast for education, self-awareness and wellness. I completed my Masters in Clinical Psychology at the University of the Witwatersrand (WITS). Prior to that I completed my Honors Degree in Psychology and Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Physiology at WITS. I completed my internship at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital in Soweto and my community service training at the Johannesburg Metropolitan Community Clinics, working in the South of Johannesburg and Orange Farm.  Since qualifying as a Clinical Psychologist, I have continuously sought to develop myself professionally and to explore my different interests and skills. I have done this through my professional clinical work in state and in the private sector. I have also done this through my online platforms, my lecturing and supervision of psychology interns. I have also written articles for GlamourSA magazine, The Sowetan and other publications.

I remember sitting in psychology classes and throughout my career I’ve had a similar thought, “Everyone should know this”. Due to my experience, I believe in psychology being accessible to all in a way that makes it impactful in everyday life. The projects I have also been privileged to take part in, such as leading community projects, and speaking at health initiatives, have continued my deep interest for sharing of information and psychoeducation. One of my greatest professional achievements is Journal Cue. It has been an honor to be the founder and CEO of Journal Cue, an online mental health stationary platform, which curates mental health tools for individuals who cannot access mainstream psychological services or who are seeking tools to supplement their mental health journey. 

My practice offers a safe, supportive and curious space for exploration and growth. I am genuinely committed to walking alongside you every step of the way in your journey to health and healing.
